I believe every love story is a gift, and my mission is to capture the beauty of God’s creation within your sweetest moments—big emotions, quiet details, and everything in between. Through timeless imagery, I preserve the feelings you never want to forget.
One of the most exciting parts of planning your engagement or family photo session is choosing the perfect location. The best location isn’t necessarily the most popular one, but what feels most like you. Whether you’re newly engaged, celebrating a growing family, or simply wanting to preserve this season of life, your session location helps tell your story. As a Northern Virginia photographer, I’ve had the privilege of photographing families and couples throughout some of the area’s most beautiful photo locations, and today I’m sharing a few of my favorites.

Old Town Alexandria is one of my favorite locations for engagement and family sessions because there is so much variety in one place. Between the waterfront views, historic streets, and charming buildings, it’s easy to create a gallery that feels both classic and fun. This location works especially well for couples who enjoy exploring together and families who want a mix of different backgrounds throughout their session.

If you’re looking for open fields, beautiful sunsets, and lots of space for little ones to move around, Manassas National Battlefield Park is a wonderful choice. I love this location because it feels peaceful and natural. The open landscape photographs beautifully throughout the year, especially during golden hour.

Naval Yard Park offers a little bit of everything, including waterfront views, open green space, and city scenery. It’s a great option for couples and families who want something a little different from a traditional park setting while still keeping the focus on the people in the photos.

Bon Air Rose Garden is especially beautiful when the roses are in bloom. The flowers add so much color and beauty to a session without feeling overwhelming. This location is perfect for spring and early summer sessions and is a favorite for families and couples who love a garden setting.

Crockett Park is a great choice for families who want a simple outdoor location with plenty of room to walk, play, and spend time together. The open fields and natural scenery create a relaxed setting that works well for both family and engagement sessions.

Jones Point Park combines waterfront views, walking trails, and beautiful open space all in one location. One of the things I love most about this park is the variety it offers throughout a session. It’s a great location for families and couples who enjoy being outdoors and want a mix of natural scenery and water views in their photos.
When helping couples and families choose a location, I always encourage them to think about more than just the scenery.
The most meaningful photographs happen when you feel relaxed and fully yourselves. The location simply becomes part of the story.
